Health Intelligence Ltd wins bid to deliver high quality diabetic eye screening for Berkshire
On the 1st April 2018, people with diabetes in Berkshire will start to receive the diabetic eye screening programme delivered by Health Intelligence, commissioned by NHS England. The programme will build on the excellent work of the current provider, Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust.
These will join the current family of HI DESPs which includes Dorset, East Anglia, Essex, Hampshire & Isle of Wight and North West London diabetic eye screening programmes. They all utilise our unique software, Spectra, which helps to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the DESP.
Eye screening is a key part of diabetes care to check for diabetic retinopathy, a condition that can lead to sight loss if it’s not detected early and treated. Everyone aged 12 and over with diabetes receives an invitation to this service once a year.
Phil Kirby, Managing Director of Health Intelligence said “We are delighted to have been selected and the whole organisation is looking forward to continuing the first class service Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust has been providing for people with diabetes in Berkshire.”
We will now work closely with Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust to ensure a smooth handover before they begin delivering services on 1st April 2018.
